British holiday makers don't have to spend thousands of pounds to have a good holiday. There are plenty of underrated European destinations that boast everything you need for an ultimate summer vacation, including sunny weather, sandy beaches, cheap prices. If you are still looking for your next holiday, consider Bulgaria's wonderful golden sands as a seaside resort on the Black Sea coast of the country's north.
One of the oldest and largest in Bulgaria, the resort is of course a family-friendly destination boasting beautiful luxury golden sand and a beach with a vast number of activities available for everyone to enjoy. Along the resort's route there are plenty of entertainment and food spots and great prices. In fact, according to Kayak, beer only reverses £2.15, but a meal at a “cheap” restaurant costs only £8.50.
While it's unlikely to get bored in places like Golden Sands, you can spend the day on the 3.5-kilometer beach, there are plenty of activities to take part in. On the beach alone, adventurers can take part in water sports such as yachting, water skiing, balloon rides, surfing, surfing, jet skiing and water paratchesing.
The sport is beyond the water, with the opportunity to enjoy bowling, tennis and volleyball games and truly embrace the competitive side, as well as groups can participate in paintball sessions.
There are no small items left behind in this bustling resort. From pony riding to dedicated children's sports centres, the Bulgarian Tourism Board ensures that “children's happiness and safety” is caring for them while enjoying anything they choose.
Close to the city of Varna, Golden Sands means visitors can explore multiple landmarks during their holidays, including archaeological museums, dolphins, aquariums and maritime museums.
A little further from the resort, some of which the Tourism Bureau calls “one of the most interesting landmarks in the Black Sea.”
Arazha Monastery is a medieval Christian cave along the coast. TripAdvisor's 4.3 star rating is said to be “extraordinary” and “beautiful” by visitors.

Their eyesight was praised, but it was noted that they were not easily accessible to wheelchair users. One person said: “A lovely place, you have to visit when you're in the area. Medieval sandstone monastery. It gives a good idea for the monks to live there. It's not a wheelchair, it's a very well-accessible place. It must have taken years to carve out another room.
