The British Isles have a beautiful group of islands offering £40,000 to travel there. Ireland hopes to bring life back to life with our living island policy, launched in 2023.
As part of regaining the lifespan of these islands through infrastructure and investment, vacant property renovation grants will provide people up to £41,395 to renovate vacant homes on these scenic coastal islands. If renovations are more expensive, a top-up grant of up to £16,558 is available. However, to qualify for the grant, you will need to jump over a few hoops. First, you need to purchase evidence of ownership or evidence of aggressive negotiation. You will then need to live in the house as your primary residence or rent it.
Also, evidence is required that the property has been vacant for at least two years and was built in the year until 2007.
The grant will not pay you to move to any of these 30 remote islands – it is purely to renovate one of those homes. You also need to make sure you have the right to live in Ireland, as another condition means you have been living for 10 years.
However, this grant offers an incredible opportunity for those who are passionate about actors. Luxury islands with available homes include Alanmore, Claire, Beret and Innismore. Even the sturdy coast and wildlife are all amazing, making it perfect for people who are trying to slow down and live quietly.
“We've seen a lot of effort into making our services,” said Wayne Mills, operations head of Seven Seas around the world.
“The Irish Government is pledged to improve transportation links, internet coverage and health services as part of its overall plan to invest in the island's future.
“They want to attract remote workers to diversify the island's economy, so if you're looking for a peaceful yet productive lifestyle, consider using Ireland's breathtaking coastal scenery as the backdrop for your office!”
