Located in Yorkshire's Ridale district, Hatton Le Hall is like a hidden gem and is perfect for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life. Just 25 miles from York, this idyllic town is located on the banks of a river dove in the stunning North Yorkmoor National Park.

According to a village page on Yorkshire.com, Hutton-Le-Hole is known for its “a charming red roof cottage, a slurping stream and grazing sheep.” Hutton-Le-Hole has a population of around 400, but it receives a large number of visitors throughout the year, especially during the Town Festival. These include the annual sheep fair where visitors from all over Yorkshire celebrate this small town, Christmas market and May Day.

For those visiting town, there is much to do along with making the most of nature and enjoying hiking, cycling and fishing.

One popular attraction is the Ryedale Folk Museum, an outdoor museum that tells the stories of local people from prehistoric times to the present day.

Visitors to the museum share many positive views on TripAdvisor.

“The highlight (for me) was the extraordinary and unusual time capsules from an early photography studio with large windows for sunlight and a sunlight-driven magnifier.

    The second states:

Another thing has been added, but “The first word that comes to mind is… wow! The museum is made entirely with dedication.

“I had never experienced it right away and was quickly transported to the past where I was able to spend hours here (unfortunately, we arrived later than intended).

“I was blown away by the thoughts and attention that were conceived to create such a magical place. There are many information boards to guide the history of the museum, as well as a lovely gift shop with friendly and helpful people.

“We visited Halloween and every effort was made to make the experience great for our young children.

Another destination that could appeal to tourists is the Chocolate Factory. Here we see chocolate being made while purchasing delicious gifts for ourselves, family and friends.

For those hoping to stay in the village itself, there are many B&Bs and self-sufficient cottages, but there is also plenty of parking so those staying even further can drive to town.
