A beautiful Italian island like the Amalfi coast without crowds | Europe | Travel

The Amalfi Coast is an Italian crown jewel and is a favorite among holiday makers. The picturesque properties surrounded by a sturdy coastline are perched on the cliffs and offer panoramic views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and Salerno Bay.

Even just mentioning this iconic coastline reminds us of Italian luxury, exquisite cuisine and images of the warm Southern Mediterranean sun. However, the reputation of the elegance and refinement of Amalfi comes with a large price tag. Thankfully there are cheaper and less crowded changes, just as beautiful as they are – Isia.

Offering all the charms of the Amalfi coast of crowds and prices, Isia could become a paradise on earth.

Located in the Bay of Naples north of Amalfi, Isia boasts beautiful villas that reflect the local architectural style, coupled with equally breathtaking scenery.

It also may save you money on accommodation. Unlike Amalfi, which is dominated by international hotel chains, Isia has an independent boutique hotel.

Perhaps the island's most famous fame is the character of the talented Ripley, a modern 1999 classic starring Matt Damon, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow.

The film scene was filmed at Ristorante Da Ciccio, one of the island's many great dining spots.

Holidaymakers heading to Isia have lovingly named it as Italy's “best secret.”

One Wales visitor could only rave about the picturesque island.

“On the beautiful islands of the Gulf of Naples, you can summarise the experience as a Sorrento with no noise or bust.

Visitors spoke of some unbelievable attractions, including the stunning La Mortera Gardens, created for composer Sir William Walton, declaring Isia's castle the best they've ever won, and recommending rewind in a thermal pool surrounded by charming locales at Negombo's Spa Park.

They added: “The best thing about Isia is that it doesn't cater to the UK visitors market at all, so there's absolutely no fast food joints and no embarrassing drunkards with hair, fake tattoos and bars and restaurants.
