    Wednesday, March 19th, 2025

Saudi Airlines, the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, continues to strengthen its role as a major global airline by expanding its routes, enhancing the passenger experience and integrating cutting-edge technologies.

As Saudi Vision 2030 reforms promote tourism and business growth, Saudi Arabia has been positioned as a key player in the Kingdom's aviation sector, helping to increase the country's international ties.

According to the Directorate of Civil Aviation (GACA), Saudi Arabia is rapidly expanding its air transport network to enhance trade, business and tourism.

Projects at Red Sea International Airport and Neom Airport are expected to increase international travel, and the expansion of Saudia's network is in line with these domestic infrastructure goals.

    Expanding global connectivity

Saudia currently operates more than 530 flights daily, connecting more than 100 destinations across four continents. The airline recently introduced new routes, including direct flights to Phuket, Thailand, and expanded its codeshare agreements with global carriers to promote seamless travel to major business hubs such as London, New York, Dubai and Paris.

An important initiative by GACA is Saudi Arabia's EVISA program. This allows travelers passing through the kingdom to stay for up to 96 hours, encouraging tourism and business interactions. This initiative strengthens Saudi Arabia's role as a global transit hub.

Enhanced Business Class and Fleet Upgrades

Saudia's business class is designed for premium travelers and offers fully flat seating, HD entertainment screens, free Wi-Fi, and a suite experience on select aircraft. The airline plans to introduce private suites to its Airbus A321 XLR fleet by 2026, providing greater comfort and privacy.

To further modernize the fleet, Saudia has promised to upgrade its Airbus A330 and Boeing 777 cabins, ensuring that by 2027 all business class seats will include the concept of private suites.

This is consistent with Saudi Arabia's aviation development plan and focuses on premium services for international travelers.

    AI-driven travel solutions

As part of Saudi Arabia's National Digital Transformation Program, Saudi Arabia has launched AI-powered travel companions to enhance customer service. The platform integrates personalized recommendations, real-time travel updates and seamless bookings to help government drive towards smart aviation solutions.

The Saudi Arabian Data & Artificial Intelligence Agency (SDAIA) recognizes AI-driven innovation as important for the travel sector, making Saudi Arabia's platform a pioneering move in the local aviation industry.

    On-time performance and operational efficiency

According to a 2024 report from Cirium, Saudia ranked globally for on-time departures (88.82%) and ranked second for on-time arrivals (86.35%). The Ministry of Transport and Logistics will highlight operational efficiency as part of Saudi Arabia's aviation strategy, allowing travelers to experience a seamless, punctual journey.

    Cultural and Culinary Experiences

Saudia enhances the flight experience by introducing traditional Saudi hospitality and cuisine. Passengers enjoy Saudi coffee, dates, national cuisine such as Kabsa and Jaleish, which is in line with the government's tourism initiative to promote Saudi culture globally.

With government-supported expansion, digital innovation and premium travel services, Saudi Arabia continues to redefine air travel, supporting Saudi Arabia's ambitious aviation and tourism growth targets.
