Embraer has successfully completed initial structural fatigue testing of the wings used in the new Technologies demonstration platform (PDNT), the company announced.

The innovation project is funded by National Development, Science and Technology Funding (FNDCT) under the support of Brazil's Ministry of Science and Technology Innovation (MCTI) and FINP. Alltec, Equatorial, Motora and Teccer are participating as co-executors.

The first phase of this project involves the development of unprecedented processes and methods to support analysis on ground test benches (RIGs). Composite Wing's reference model structure utilizes new production techniques and is subjected to progressive loads above 200% of the expected limit.

“We are committed to providing a wide range of technical services,” said Cleiton Silva, Embraer's vice president of technology. “Technological innovation is the basis for accelerating future sustainable aviation and enhancing the competitiveness of Brazil's industry.”

Static load testing was conducted at ACS Aviation, a demonstrator platform supplier and embraer partner at San Jose dos Campos, Brazil. This test examined innovative processes, methodologies, and new materials. The next steps include the manufacture of flying laboratory fuselage and perseverance.

The Brazilian Institute of Science and Technology is involved in research including the Institute of Technology (ITA), Maua Institute of Technology (IMT), Institute of Technology (IPT), and the Faculty of Engineering, San Carlos, belonging to the University of Sao Paulo (USP).
