Airbus is conducting a series of flight tests on the original A380 testbed as part of its efforts to improve its in-service fleet.
Air Flammers do not specify the nature of the tests that include MSN1.
However, the aircraft said it had undergone “a few months of preparation” and a system upgrade and a test installation setup to carry out the flight.
Airbus says the test is “necessary to prove the latest system development soon to be installed on service aircraft.”
The air flamers are officially listed as having a 220 A380 in operation out of the 251 produced.
MSN1 held something like about 3 hours and 15 minutes on March 14th.
FlightGlobal understands that the aircraft will take part in a long series of tests, taking into account the nature of the activities planned to support the development of the A380 fleet.
These include testing new features created to maintain high safety and reliability standards for aircraft types.
