Tanzania's Kisarowe district has launched the Ishinojima campaign led by Nature Funds around the World (WWF) to promote environmental conservation and clean energy adoption. In launch at the Jokatemwegero School in the Pwani region, Kisarowe district chief Petro Magoti urged young people to play an active role in protecting the environment, including planting trees in schools. As part of the initiative, WWF donated two clean cooking stoves with a capacity of 200 liters, adjusting Tanzania's target of 80% clean energy adoption by 2034.
WWF Director Johanna Mpagama highlighted the continued cooperation with the school on tree planting initiatives and the advocacy of clean energy. The campaign supports Tanzania's broader environmental goals to reduce deforestation and mitigate climate change. In recognition of the students' achievements, the government awarded the Jocate of Mwegero School with food supplies. This initiative demonstrates the possibility that education and sustainability efforts will collaborate and promote environmental management among youth in Tanzania.
