It's always great to travel to the country with the security that they are safe. As we live in an increasingly unpredictable world, it is becoming more important to check the guidance before travelling.
Leading security services company International SOS recently released Risk Map 2025 to help travelers get better ideas about where to travel before they travel. Maps identify the safest and most dangerous countries in the world. This map assesses risks in four key areas: healthcare, security, climate change and mental health. Countries are ranked insignificant, low, medium, high or extreme.
Many island nations are safe to stand out, as are Scandinavian countries such as Iceland, Norway, Denmark and Finland. These include the Marshall Islands in the Central Pacific Ocean.
According to the risk map, the Marshall Islands, with a population of just under 39,000, poses insignificant security risks to visitors. It is also high in the case of medical risks, low in the case of climate change, and low in the case of mental health.
Located more than 8,300 miles from the UK, the country consists of 29 coral atolls and five major islands. It offers a peaceful escape in remote areas for tourists.
The Marshall Islands benefit from the tropical climate, with an average temperature of 28c. The wettest weather often arrives in October and November.
The Marshall Islands are known for their coral reefs and marine life. Visitors can also enjoy historic sites such as World War II relics in the capital Majuro.
Another popular site is Castle Bravo Crater, created in 1954 by hydrogen bomb tests. This was 1,000 more powerful than the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. The 2km wide crater is located at Bikini Atoll.
The most popular way to get to the Marshall Islands is from Honolulu Airport. From here, travelers fly to Majuro's Marshall Islands International Airport.
According to the Foreign, Federal and Development Agency, it must have an “expiration date” at least six months after the date of arrival, and one blank page in your passport must have an admission stamp to enter the Marshall Islands. You also need a visa to enter.
If you are just visiting, you will get a visa upon arrival. However, if you are planning to work or study, you will need to apply for a visa before your trip.
