Qatar Airways will increase the frequency of flights between Doha, Maputo and Durban to daily service, starting from the current five-week flights from June 3, 2025. The enhanced schedule aims to improve connectivity between the Middle East and South Africa, and to increase the flexibility of leisure and business travelers. The route, including Maputo stops, will strengthen links between Qatar, Mozambique and South Africa, and will also provide seamless access to a global network of over 170 destinations through Doha's Hamad International Airport.
Daily services are expected to support regional tourism and trade, strengthen Durban's appeal as a coastal and business hub, and strengthen the role of Maputo as a gateway to Mozambique's cultural and natural attraction. The expansion will increase Qatar Airways' strategy and connectivity across Africa, placing the airline as a key partner in driving for inbound and outbound travel. Tourism in South Africa has benefited from an increased flow of visitors, improving access to international travelers seeking multi-order itinerary within the region.
