Serengeti Balloon Safaris (SBS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Roy Mushobozi as Sustainability Manager, a whole new role at SBS, and a whole new role at SBS that reflects our commitment to ensuring business.

Since SBS was founded, we have always worked hard to enable a footprint that could have the greatest positive impact on both our clients and staff and our neighboring community who fly with us. To further develop our mission, Roy joined SBS, a wealth of experts who was previously the program manager for Tanzania's NGO Sunrise of Life Canada and overseeing the implementation of multiple programs. Prior to this, he was a partnership and innovation manager for VSOs in Tanzania, and previously worked at Raleigh International, where he was responsible for planning, organising and delivering the UK Government's International Citizen Services Entrepreneur (ICSE) programme.

    SBS John Corse's MD commented.

“We are excited to be part of Roy's wide range of experiences in the sustainability sector. We have great ambitions as a business to develop new and exciting processes in both SBS and Beyond and Roy. As with Tanzania's wider tourism industry, our ambition is to create positive change within the balloon sector. For us, it is to create a legacy that we are proud of.”

Current sustainability and conservation commitments include:

Travellife-We are certified by Travellife, an industry-leading sustainability auditor who gets checked regularly in the company's processes and daily running to ensure that we do everything we can.

Serengeti De -Snaring Project – Every year, donates more than 9KUSD a year to this small but very shocking NGO, helping to reduce bushmeat poaching within Serengeti National Park.

Carbon Tanzania – offsets all carbon that produces both from balloons to vehicles used. It also offsets carbon generated from international flights that must be acquired for business/marketing purposes. Last year, this amounted to over 10KUSD and was used to restore Tanzania's biodiversity.

Community Projects – Empowerment through Sports – We support a wide range of local community-based projects, including the Legend Youth Basketball Team in Arusha. By offering smart kits and sponsorships, these teams bring together over 150 boys and girls to compete together and have fun together.

Please kindly contact Charlie Morrison of Green Travel Marketing.
