Israeli operator ISRAIR Group has revealed that it plans to resume US services using Airbus A330-200 Twinjets, with the aim of restoring transatlantic connections.
Israir is attempting to serve the Tel Aviv-New York route on its first flight since early July this year.
The airline, which received its ownership change in early 2021, currently operates all of the Airbus A320's narrowbody fleet.
Israir will launch charter services in 2004, pointing out that it was a submission to the US government and previously served US routes.
After that, we introduced operations scheduled after approval in March 2006.
However, Israir says it stopped US services “due to market conditions” before attempting to renew its approval in 2009.
“Israir has decided to resume U.S. services,” it said in a document to the U.S. Department of Transport.
It plans to introduce six non-stop services per week in the first year of business, starting on July 1st. The airline says it will drive flights on the A330-200, although it does not indicate a source of aircraft.
Israir adds that he “will be engaged in charter operations from time to time.”
Approximately 37% of the Israir Group is owned by Shai Odem, and 21% of Raim Levy owns it in 2020 after the company was auctioned off during the restructuring of its then parent.
