Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Control Agency (Zimparks) urged the Ministry of Mining and Mining to reject the proposed mining project in the Sinamatera Black Rhino Intensive Protection Zone in Wange National Park. Jin Parks spokesman Tinashe Farawo warned that mining in ecologically sensitive areas would endanger growing black rhino populations in the park, which are described as critically at risk under the CIT.

Fange National Park is a major attraction for international visitors seeking wildlife experiences, and Zin Parks fears that the negative impacts of mining could thwart tourism and harm efforts. The Sinamatera region is also of cultural importance, with the historic Bunbushi monument serving as a site for annual rainfall rituals by the local Nambia-speaking community. Zinparks reaffirms its commitment to protecting Zimbabwean natural heritage for future generations, saying conservation and sustainable tourism must be prioritized over the short-term extraction industry.
