Martin Lewis has issued a harsh warning to anyone heading towards a sunnyer climate for this year's holiday.
The money guru urged holiday makers to ensure they have a “ASAB” travel insurance as soon as a holiday is booked.
During the Martin Lewis Money Show on Tuesday, March 4th, Martin made a passionate plea to those who booked a trip abroad in 2025.
He said: “Most people book summer holidays in January and February. What's important to understand – travel insurance isn't just about covering you while you're away.
“It's also very important to have you covered in case something happens before you stop going.
“So I have a rule – as soon as you book, you need to get your travel insurance ASAB.
“But now, a lot of people have already booked it.
“If you don't have travel insurance and have booked holidays, do it now.”
Martin spoke in two scenarios. This made tourists need help when they found out they could not go on holiday due to medical issues.
However, he said he was “powerless” to help those who have to cancel their holidays without travel insurance.
He emphasized: “Don't take out travel insurance the day before you go.
“Think it up a bit, very simple.
If you buy a tennis racket and break your arm, you can't say, “My arm is broken so I want a refund.”
“The tennis rackets are still working. The flights are still working, the hotels are still working. They're not the ones who have the problem. That's you.”
