Air France-KLM has recorded full year operating profit of 1.6 billion euros ($1.71 billion) after finishing 2024 in the past quarter.
The group generated an operating profit of 396 million euros in the fourth quarter. This markedly improved the 56 million euros lost in 2023. This led Air France-KLM to make annual profits within 6% of the 1.7 billion euros created in 2023.
Profit was achieved with a 4.8% increase in group revenues in 2024. Group net income reached 489 million euros per year, despite higher financial costs.
“We are pleased to announce that we are committed to providing a wide range of services,” said Ben Smith, CEO of Air France-KLM. “In the fourth quarter of 2024, Air France-KLM brought a particularly strong finish, closing the year shaped by both operational and external challenges.”
Air France once again led the group's profitability in 2024. The French forces reduced operating profit of €980 million by €105 million.
KLM's operating results fell 416 million euros, down 234 million euros per year.
“We are pleased to announce that we are committed to providing a range of services and services to ensure that we are committed to providing a range of services,” said Bas Brouns, Chief Financial Officer, KLM. “Our financial performance in 2024 is disappointing, especially considering that operating results consist of cost savings.” Last year, Dutch carriers embarked on an efficiency programme that they hope to provide 450 million euros of savings this year.
More encouraging, the group's low-cost unit transbia has moved to year-round profits. Transbia's operating profit of 3 million euros showed an improvement of 100 million euros in 2023.
