I crossed the water on a speedboat and felt like a James Bond movie. It moved very quickly, and only had a bit of shaking and stirring, making it a great way to see Montenegro's gorgeous Adrias coastline.
The views are so beautiful that it doesn't look out of place on 007 film or the gorgeous blockbusters. Montenegro is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places on the planet.
We were on a trip to visit the famous Blue Caves on the Lustica Peninsula, one of the country's most popular hotspots. As the boat slowly entered the cave, I was open in amazement at how picturesque it was.
The cave arch is about 82 feet above beautifully clear water.
And if you are visiting early in the afternoon, the sun is just shining at a right angle, giving the water a blue colour that names it.
I couldn't resist the dip by jumping off the boat. With an idyllic swim, it was back on a boat for a 90-minute journey north to the historic city of Herseg Novi.
It was an opportunity to incorporate an incredible view. Trust me, this place is like one huge postcard.

Montenegro “looks like one giant postcard.”
Returning to dry land, there are many places that can't be removed from the big screen.
Located in the UNESCO-secured Bay of Kotor, Porto Montenegro feels very flashy with its luxurious restaurants and shops for those who want to spend their cash.
The good news is that you can enjoy a luxurious break in Montenegro without breaking the bank. I stayed at the very luxurious 5 star Lazure Hotel & Marina. Built in the 18th century, this complex is a beautiful complex with fantastic spa, pool and beach access.
The Rosemarin restaurant overlooks the hotel's marina and breaks sushi and offers cutting-edge service. I liked it very much. I jumped out for two nights in a row and one of those meals lasted for 4 hours.
Surprisingly, this hotel is not costing the planet. Room rates are comparable to that of a mid-range hotel in the UK.
It summarises almost everything that makes Montenegro special.

Walk along the wild side
There are some spots around the country that are not worth seeing. Dhamitor National Park in the north is an absolute must. The mixture of glacial lakes, pine forests, rivers, mountains and hills creates the most incredible scenery I've ever seen.
When I first arrived I was totally fascinated and almost every photo I took with my phone looks like a postcard.
There are several incredible creatures, including the Golden Eagles, brown bears, and gray wolves. But don't worry, I'm sure you won't come face to face with anything you might want lunch.
Thankfully, locals say the bears are shy. I went for a 90 minute hike around the park and it was a great way to get more snaps in my bag.
Another great spot in the view is the Spirit us of Njegos. This is a church on Mount Robsen in the southwest region. You can drive it in most ways, but there is a small problem of 461 steps to reach the top.
I did them on a few breaks and it was definitely worth the effort. You can see the miles and miles.
It was an even better opportunity to deposit some extravagant snaps in the bank.

Higher the sky
Another great way to see the drastic landscape of Montenegro from above is the Kotor-Rovsen Cable Car, which runs from the village of Dub to the mountains Kuku.
It was a short drive from my hotel and was worth the trip. The attraction takes over 4,250 feet above sea level and travels for 2.4 miles.
What impressed me most was how long it lasted – a whopping 11 minutes, so you have plenty of time to enjoy the wonderful views of the medieval walled town of Kotor, beautiful villages with huge bays and lush hills.
And ultimately, you are in the mountains. Once on top there is something to do with alpine coasters, cycling tours and hiking trails.
I chose to visit the bar for a cocktail and got a better snap.
A short drive from the coast to get ideas from the country's rich past, inspired by Europe, Cetinje is a great place to start as it has plenty of historic hot spots.
I got a great overview by visiting the King Nicola Museum, the last monarch of the country until 1918.

It's good to know
Montenegro uses the euro and many of the locals speak perfect English. However, please note that as it is not in the EU, most mobile providers do not cover calls, text and data on their monthly plans, so they must be added to their daily packages.
I cannot fully recommend Montenegro. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world, with incredible weather and a relatively short flight from the UK. Better yet, you can enjoy a rather luxurious holiday without spending crazy amounts.
