The Atlanta Delta Airlines (DL) is expanding its African network on a new non-stop route from Atlanta, including its first service to Marrakech (RAK) in Morocco since October 25th.
The airline will also add seasonal services from Atlanta (ATL) to Ghana's ACCRA (ACC) from Ghana from December 1st to meet the growing winter demand. These additions will make both destinations more accessible and expand Delta's premium services to more African locations.

Delta two new Africa routes
Since entering the African market in 2006, Delta has maintained its commitment to connecting the continent with the US travellers. The airline currently operates year-round non-stop flights to five African destinations, transporting over 7.5 million passengers on these routes.
“We are pleased to announce that we are committed to providing a wide range of services,” said Paul Bardoni, senior vice president of network planning at Delta. “Whether you discover Morocco or reconnect with your loved ones in Ghana, these routes strengthen our network while strengthening Atlanta's role as the world's largest global hub.”
Marrakech attracts visitors with its centuries-old traditions, vibrant markets and luxurious accommodation. As interest in Morocco grows, Delta's new services will provide unprecedented access to this UNESCOLIST destination, impacted by one-stop connections from over 125 cities.
Travelers can explore Marrakech's vibrant medina and navigate the peaceful riad with bustling markets and sun-filled courtyards. Visitors can admire the detailed tilework of Bahia Palace, experience the energy of Gemma Elvenna Square and relax with traditional Hammam spa treatments.
Each experience combines cultural immersion and relaxation, enhanced by Moroccan unique and flavorful cuisine. Over the city, adventure awaits you at retreats in the Atlas Mountains and the calm desert.
Delta's new Atlanta Marrakech route will be operated three times a week using Boeing 767-400ER aircraft. The plane has a complete cabin offering for Delta. Delta features chef curated meals including lie flat sheets, premium amenities and a build of ice cream sundaes. Delta Premium Select with wider seating, deeper reclining and enhanced meals. Delta Comfort+; Main cabin service.
Delta continues to implement fast, free Wi-Fi throughout the global fleet, providing connectivity at an unparalleled scale in the industry. Skymiles members traveling to Morocco can enjoy free streaming quality internet from boarding to arrival.
The airline is rapidly expanding the service to the rest of the international routes, with additional West African destinations (Lagos, Dakar and Accra) expected to receive Delta-synchronized Wi-Fi in the coming weeks, followed by Marrakech when the service begins in October.

Enhanced Accra Service
Strong demand from US-African travelers keeps Accra as one of the most popular African destinations in the Delta, especially during holidays.
To meet this increased demand, Delta will launch seasonal, daily non-stop service from Atlanta to Accra.
After the introduction of the Airbus A330-900Neo on the JFK-ACCRA route last October, this same aircraft type will operate on the Atlanta route. The plane offers Delta One Suite and next-generation comfort features across all cabin classes.
“Africa is home to some of the world's most dynamic cities, rich traditions and growing economies, and Delta makes it easier to reach than ever,” said Matteo Crucio, Delta's senior vice president of Europe. “These new routes open doors for travelers looking for business opportunities, cultural exploration and meaningful connections.”

Strengthen the Atlanta Hub
Atlanta serves as the Delta's largest hub, operating around 1,000 flights each day, connecting travelers to 215 destinations around the world. With the addition of Marrakech, Delta's international destinations will be 67 from Atlanta, and with recent additions such as Naples and Brussels, the airport's position as a global gateway.
Delta has invested more than $12 billion in modernizing its hub network, with significant improvements at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport. These enhancements include the new 24,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club, which will open in Concourse D this spring.
The airline has upgraded the Delta Sky Club in Competition A and C to enhance the guest experience. Additional infrastructure improvements include expanding Concourse D, creating more gate space and improving passenger flow throughout the terminal.
Delta implements Delta Digital ID technology, allowing qualified travelers to travel through the security and bag drop process without presenting physical identification or boarding pass. These advances in technology create a more streamlined experience.
These investments continue to enhance the travel experience for customers flying through Atlanta, whether they are heading to experience Marrakech's vibrant market, Accra's dynamic streets and the global destinations of the Delta.

New Cancun Service
Delta Airlines will introduce new non-stop international services this winter from Austinburgstrom International Airport (AUS) to Cancun, Mexico (CUN). Daily seasonal services begin on December 20th and continue until mid-April 2026, connecting Texas travelers directly to Mexico's popular beach destinations.
“Delta is Austin Bergstrom's leading global network carrier, and is set to launch nearly 60 days of peak days this winter,” said Paul Bardoni, Delta's senior vice president of network planning. “This new service to Cancun adds an even more popular leisure destination for Austin customers.”
The flight will operate on Delta Airbus A320 aircraft with First Class, Delta Comfort+ and main cabin seating options. Skymiles members access fast, free Wi-Fi onboarding and complement the seatback entertainment system, offering over 1,000 hours of content.
Expanded Service Options
Delta will increase services between Austin and Orlando (MCO) twice daily, simultaneously during the peak winter travel season, offering travelers both morning and afternoon flight options.
The airline has already begun expanding its Austin network, with two-day services to New Orleans on February 27th. Additional routes will link Austin to Panama City, Florida (ECP) in March 2025, followed by Jacksonville (Indianapolis), Indianapolis (Indiana), Memphis (MEM) and San Francisco (SFO) and San Francisco (MEM) in May 2025.
These additions will increase Delta's departures from Austin by more than 35% year-on-year, strengthening the airline's commitment to meeting the travel needs of the Texas capital.
Austin travelers also benefit from one of the most rated Sky Clubs in the Delta. Opened in 2019, the lounge features Texas-themed elements, including sculptures of Pewter rhinestone cowboy boots, “Keepe Austin's Strange” artwork, and a premium drink menu highlighting tequila and mezcal. For the third year in a row, Austin Delta Sky Club has achieved the highest customer satisfaction ranking in the Southern region.
Delta strategically places Austin as a key gateway within the network. Non-stop flights to all major Delta Hubs allow Austin customers to reach their global destinations with just one or fewer connections. Through KLM's partnership with Aeromexico, Delta offers Austin Travelers Non-Stop Services to Amsterdam (AMS) and Mexico City (MEX) multiple times each week.
