The Botswana Ministry of Environment and Tourism has confirmed that the Sedudung Goma Transit Route through Chobe National Park will be open 24 hours a day from April 1, 2025. Previously, limited wildlife disability and combating illegal activities, expanding access comes with enhanced safety and conservation measures, including increased patrols, improved signage and public awareness campaigns.
As an important corridor connecting the Sedudu Gate near Kasan to Ngomagate on the Botswanana Mibian border, the route passes through the well-known wildlife area and requires careful management to maintain biodiversity. Authorities work with stakeholders to ensure that they remain conserved, while encouraging smoother transport. The initiative is expected to improve accessibility for visitors and strengthen Chobe National Park's status as the premier safari destination known for its rich wildlife and scenic landscape.
