As we finally say goodbye to dark mornings and frozen temperatures, the British will scrutinise the internet for the perfect holiday destination heading into March.

This stunning Spanish city is often referred to as the “Iberian oven” due to the heat that explodes from North Africa, making it perfect for spring holidays.

In fact, the average temperature in the city in March is a refreshing 21c, with 7 hours of sunlight per day, but only 11c in the UK.

Seville, a city in southwestern Spain, is the fourth largest city in the country and the capital of Andalusia, boasting a rich history and culture.

Therefore, it is not surprising that the city attracts around 3 million tourists a year.

Seville was even one of the world's best holiday destinations for culture, with TripAdvisor's latest Travelers' Choice Awards.

Brits should expect eight days of rain in March alone, but Seville residents experience an average of 80 days a year.

Seville is home to some of Europe's most beautiful buildings, with three UNESCO World Heritage Sites impressive.

First established as a Roman city, “The Alcazar Palace complex is a stunning collage of architectural styles, and the cathedral will impress you with its beauty and status as Christopher Columbus' burial site,” a TripAdvisor spokesman said.

The Plaza de Espana is also a must-see, boasting a stunning mix of Baroque revivals, Renaissance revivals and Moorish revival styles of Spanish architecture.

With so many beautiful sites, Andalusia's capital has become known as a paradise for filmmakers. Alcazar Palace was used as a movie set for Game of Thrones, and Plaza Despana starred in the Star Wars clone attack.

In addition to its architecture, the city is also famous for its Bitter Seville Orange, which is perfect for making marmalades. They can see the city and trees line the streets. It is also used locally in aromatherapy, herbal medicines and dietary products. Tree flowers are the source of neroli oil, commonly used in perfumes and skin lotions.

According to Skyscanner, aspiring visitors can now win a return direct flight with Ryanair at 131 pounds, spurting from Stansted and arriving in Seville (SQV).

You can also fly directly for just 26 pounds with vueling from Gatwick if you want to travel to other southern destinations in Spain, such as the Costa del Sol.
