After spending a small fortune to fly to a seaside resort, the last thing you want to do is miss the fun as you don't want your valuables to be unmanned.

But one holiday maker shares a “snarky” solution to keeping your phone, money and keys safe when relaxing on the beach or swimming in the ocean.

In response to the Reddit thread, “Would you like to keep your valuables safe while relaxing just on the beach?” she simply said: “Get your diapers, wrap them around, and no one wants to touch it.”

Agreed, another user stated: Going it a step further, one user added. “I just wipe the Nutella on the edge.”

But some people believe that this trick is being used so much that the burglars have caught up with it.

Sharing another way, one user stated: “When I'm alone on the beach, I hide my valuables in a waterproof pouch and bury them in the sand a little, leaving a little marker for myself. I hope these tips help!”

Others insist that you should not bring anything you don't want to lose to the beach, as you can never be sure that your items are safe when you leave unattended. One user stated:

Another user added: “I usually keep my own in my car except for my phone. But the phone is locked and I have a GPS, not to mention it's not worth stealing. Previously, nothing was stolen from me.

Another user stated: “Bring a small waterproof bag for your phone and wallet and place it underneath your neck when you take a nap. Tie it around the waste for a swimming. Always use plastic wrap for a towel. Place it on the sand. The beach when I go into the water with a dirty flip-flop.”
