Dr. Yohl Williams, the chairman of a prominent university at St. Thomas University and founder of the Racial Justice Initiative, recently hosted by PBS documentary Great Migrations: Historian Henry Louis Gates Jr. Appeared in people on the move. The part series explores the migration experiences of African-Americans and explores how migration shaped the history of the US and black communities.

The series examines key moments in the history of black migration, including major migration and the influx of immigrants in the Caribbean and Africa. Williams provides valuable insight into the historical and contemporary impacts of African-American migration, and gives his expertise in a broader conversation about the ongoing impact of these movements on the Black experiences of America. I'll add it

“African immigrants have ethnic identities, religious identities, national identities, and come to the US context and you engrave our racial identities on those people. ” – Dr. Yohl Williams, Great Immigrants: People on the Migration, Episode 4.
