Women share a “middle seat hack” that allows you and your seatmate to almost guarantee that they have an entire row on themselves, so there's no need to touch your knees awkwardly with strangers.
There's nothing worse than being crushed by a plane, so it's best to have passengers seated in advance beforehand.
For example, it's not too bad if you're flying in a group of three. I know someone who has an accidental intrusion space, but sitting between you can be a little uncomfortable when someone you don't know.
But @holidayextras could share a “hack” and give you a “extra leg room.” However, some are labelled “more gambling.”
Of course, if you try this, you may come across a disappointing solo traveler who doesn't mind sitting in the middle seat, so there is no guarantee. But it's worth trying.
She calls the hack a “such a game changer” especially when “traveling with others.”
When “hate spaces that are almost inevitable” on planes, she said:
“And no one is going to book a seat in the middle, unless the plane is really busy,” she insisted.
But, like the comments, for travelers trying to hack, this may be bad news for some who have said they intentionally searched and booked for random mid-seat seats.
“I booked a seat in the middle between my two friends. They asked if I would move so that they could sit next to each other. Uh… no!”
Someone admitted: “Haha, I'm literally looking to make the seats in the middle of those weird and make people uncomfortable.”
Another said, “The airline will just randomly assign it to someone,” especially if they booked a flight for them alone.
Tiktoker wrote: “No couples have done that. On full flight, I randomly assigned a middle seat, but neither of them wanted to move.”
Frequent flyers claimed that they had never been on an airplane with empty seats.
Someone labeled anyone trying this hack as “incredibly selfish.”
