“I'm a travel expert – never wear it on a plane” | Travel News | Travel

It can be extremely dangerous to wear the wrong thing on a plane, travel experts revealed.

There are many things to think about when planning your trip. Not only do you need to consider what to pack, you also need to give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport and make sure you follow security guidelines on what you can and cannot do. With your baggage.

But it's not just your suitcase clothes that you need to worry about. Because one travel advisor insists that we should make better choices about what we wear on our trip.

According to a woman named Mari, there is one thing you should “never wear” on a plane. In fact, choosing to throw away certain items can “save a life” if the plane gets into trouble in the air.

Mari, who regularly shares travel advice on her Tiktok account, explained that the issue is not just one type of clothing, but instead about the material on which your clothing is made.

In her video, Mali urged people not to wear “synthetic materials” on their planes. If an emergency occurs on your plane and a fire occurs, the synthetic fibers are much more dangerous as they can melt into your skin and relax and cause severe burns.

Mari explained: “If the plane is dropping down or the plane is causing a fire, and if the synthetic material actually melts and melts into the skin, you should not wear synthetic materials on your plane.

“That doesn't mean that natural fiber clothing doesn't cause burns or fires. That means that synthetic fiber materials cause burns at a higher speed. Synthetic fibers will also ignite faster. Your clothing is on fire.”

Avoiding synthetic materials means not wearing clothes made from materials such as polyester or nylon when on a plane. If possible, choose clothing made from linen, cotton, silk or wool. These natural materials are also highly breathable, making them even more comfortable on stifling planes without emergencies.

Staying safe in the air also means throwing away yoga pants and leggings – no matter how comfortable they are on long flights, according to aviation expert Christine Negroni.

Experts previously said: “If you leave the aircraft, you may have to escape from the cabin fire, or there may be another fire on the ground. Everyone is wearing yoga pants on the plane. But I avoid all artificial fibers because they have more fire, if there's a fire, it could burn and stick to you.
