More than 800 women are scheduled to visit the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on March 7th as part of the initiative marking International Women's Day. The visit, sponsored by the Ngorongoro Conservation Authority Authority (NCAA), aims to boost domestic tourism while raising awareness about conservation activities. NCAA Senior Assistant Tourism Marketing Aide Mariam Cobello emphasized that the initiative is consistent with national efforts to encourage local tourism, particularly among women, and supports a broader sustainability goal .
In addition to visits, participants will participate in conservation activities, such as road cleaning along major tourist routes. The initiative not only raises environmental awareness, but also highlights the role of women in responsible tourism and conservation. Supported by local businesses such as the Tanzanite Cooperative, the programme offers opportunities for women to tackle nature, networks and contribute to Tanzania's sustainable tourism practices.
