At the Molkul family, the safety and happiness of our guests and teams is always a top priority. We would like to share some important updates following an unprecedented period of heavy rains in the North.

Since last year, annual rainfall at Madikwegame Reserve has exceeded 1300mm. This is more than twice the typical rainy season. In February alone, heavy rain over 400mm of overflowed Molatedi Dam, significantly increasing the Marico River water level.

As a result, on the evening of February 20th, the homes of the Molkul owners and the houses of the Molkul River were flooded when the water levels rose.

We are relieved to make sure all staff were safe and not staying on the property at the time. However, substantial material damage is expected due to flooding. If the conditions are permitted, a full evaluation will be conducted.

Both the Morkl owner's house and the Morkl River house will remain closed until further notice.

Our reservation team is individually reaching out to affected travel partners and guests.

We are pleased to ensure that Molkul farmers are unaffected and fully operational.

We appreciate your support and understanding as we navigate this situation. We will also continue to provide the latest information.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our team directly.
