Uzbekistan-based airline Qanot Sharq is expanding its relationship with US Lesser Air Lease through its long-range Airbus A321XLRS and A321LRS agreements.
Three XLRs and two LRs are scheduled to be distributed to operators from 2026 to 2027.
The Tashkent-based Qanot Sharq already has the A321neos and A320, and the wide body A330.
“These cutting edges (XLRS and LRS) allow us to open new routes, improve fuel efficiency and improve the travel experience for our passengers,” says Nosir Abdugafarov, owner of Qanot Sharq.
“As Uzbekistan's first civil airline, we are dedicated to growth and innovation. This contract is in our long-term vision of expanding our destination network while maintaining our commitment to exceptional services. It represents an important milestone.”
Engine selection has not been disclosed.
Additional airbus jets will be supplied with air flamers from the backlog, Air Lease said.
