The UK's “Calmest” seaside town is a hot spot for beautiful coastal scenery | Travel News | Travel

Pretty British towns are one of the quietest and most peaceful seaside areas that the UK has to offer.

Scotland's North Berwick is known for its scenic scenery and calm surroundings. As such, the town has also been appointed as one of the 10 quietest places in the UK.

But aside from its calming atmosphere, there are many other reasons to visit the town in East Lothian.

Firstly, the stunning location has a rich history, dating back to the Middle Ages.

It is also about 27 miles from Edinburgh, allowing you to reach the Scottish capital just 45 minutes from the town.

North Berwick is the heart of Scotland's seabird and is known for the world's largest North Canget colony, so wildlife fans are also taking part in the snacks.

One place to visit North Berwick is Yellow Craig Beach, an idyllic part of the coastline.

A TripAdvisor visitor said: “Absolutely a beautiful beach. I didn't see any trash anywhere on the beach.

“Everyone who passes you, good morning, when I got back on the road along the way there was a deer on the right. I definitely hope to return to this beach with my dog. ”

Another must-see location in the area is Tantalon Castle, located on the edge of the cliff.

You can climb the Tantalon Tower, seeking magnificent views of Bas Rock and the North Sea.

A Tripadvisor visitor said: The entire sign provides great ideas on how the castle works and the scenery is spectacular!

“The two gentlemen who work on the site are the best! They know so much history about the castle and the area where I was able to listen to them all day! Don't miss this place!”

A trip to the area is not perfect without a visit to the Scottish Seabird Centre.

The centre features exhibits of local sea creatures, as well as interactive exhibits that teach visitors about the work the centre does to protect local birdlife, including hermit crabs.

One of the best parts of Scottish Seabird Centres is the boat trips they offer – but these are seasonal and weather dependent to make sure you are running before you visit.
