Mayorka panic when tourists cancel holiday on the island due to big issues | Travel News | Travel

When it comes to British-loving holiday destinations, Mallorca is definitely there, but recent incidents can have a negative impact on the island's reputation.

A group of tourists planning to stay at the island's popular complex have cancelled their bookings due to one of the complex buildings occupied by squatters.

46 German travelers were intended to arrive at Club Bellevue in Puerto Alcudia by ferry from Barcelona on April 6th. They had booked a package with the agency for five nights in Mallorca.

However, the group now has not only cancelled their Bellevue reservations, but also changed plans to decide not to travel to Mallorca.

Meanwhile, hoteliers in Mallorca have expressed “the biggest concern” about the case of squatters at the Tourism Bureau.

According to the Maysca Daily Bulletin, Club Bellevue is the third facility where squatters have been found. Sol Mar Apartotel of Kara Bona also had a case in which the situation was resolved quickly.

Cala d'or's apartment faces squatters that have been there for many years, but the complex was active and not running.

As a result of concerns, hotel owners and other business units are calling for changes to the law that is allegedly too easy to squat down.

Security is also increasing to ensure that other facilities do not face the same issues as Bellevue ahead of the approaching tourist season.

Unfortunately, while trying to resolve the situation, the negative propaganda that emerged from Bellevue attracted tourists from various countries, particularly the UK.

Tourist facilities are already facing a variety of hits, including JET2, who will not accept reservations that will clash with Spring Break on the Rebel Islands for Portuguese students between April 11th and 16th. This is reportedly a response to a huge number of complaints made in 2024.

Bellevue, the two-course festival, has received many complaints from tourists, residents and local businesses over the years.
