    Record ministerial participation at ICAO symposium

    The ICAO's fourth global implementation support symposium, hosted by the UAE, saw strong global support to enhance aviation sustainability and capabilities, with major contracts expected.

    Montreal and Abu Dhabi – The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) launched its 4th Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS) on February 10 with the participation of an unprecedented minister, to sustainability and capacity development for major international aviation The stage for the contract has been set.

    The high-level gathering in Abu Dhabi, hosted by the UAE government, will be held in Abu Dhabi on February 10-12, in response to ICAO's efforts to advance sustainable aviation development around the world. It emphasizes strong political support from the international community.

    “Across the 193 member states, ICAO standards and strategies will shape and advance broader economic development, social progress and environmental protection,” said ICAO Council Salvatore at the GISS Minister's Roundtable. Chairman Sciacchitano said. “Right now, the path to sustainable aviation varies greatly from state to state, and your presence here demonstrates both our commitment and progress towards our shared goals.”

    “The Minister is committed to sustainability and environmental management and is looking at ways to achieve responsible growth in conjunction with the established, global, long-term, ambitious goals of net zero carbon emissions.” said Juan Carlos Salazar, Executive Director of ICAO. “Their strategies include standards to promote investment mechanisms like the Finbreak Platform, a groundbreaking platform that reduces the impact of civil aviation on climate and links investors to sustainable aviation projects. Includes development and implementation. Stewardship.”

    Several major contracts are expected to be signed to the bystanders of the three-day event, including air financing and significant developments in sustainable fuel production. The symposium also coincides with the launch of the UAE's Global Sustainable Aviation Market (GSAM). It is a joint platform designed to accelerate aviation decarbonisation by expanding sustainable aviation fuel production and innovative financing mechanisms.

    This event will be ICAO in providing practical solutions for sustainable aviation development, with particular attention to supporting resource-constrained states through technical assistance and targeted implementation support. We introduce the leadership of

    The symposium continued until February 12, 2025, with further announcements on key funding initiatives and implementation agreements.
