A recent study reveals the UK airlines that are most likely to lose their luggage.
The survey was conducted by Ink Digital, a digital marketing agency whose data was collected using Google Keyword Planner. It focuses in particular on searches related to lost, delayed or missing packages for major airlines operating in the UK.
British Airways is ranked high in the rankings with an astounding 6,938 monthly searches related to around five times the wrong packages that appeared in the second place on the list in 1,372 monthly searches.
“We've been working hard to get the most out of our business,” said Michael Ryan, owner and CRO of Ink Digital.
“The toppings on British Airways, KLM and EasyJet suggest that even well-established airlines face ongoing challenges in baggage handling.
“This issue often occurs due to close layovers, understaffing and mishandling during the transfer.
“Passers can reduce their risk by using luggage on planes where possible, investing in smart trackers such as AirTags, and taking out appropriate travel insurance to cover unexpected losses.”
Emirates, Lufthansa and EasyJet track the top two with average searches of 1,048, 987, and 1,208 respectively.
Ryanair, Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways also made the top 10 and along with American Airlines, the only US carrier that made the top 10 in a search of 557.
