According to OAG's Global Airline Schedule data, Tambo International Airport (Ortia) ranks in the top 10 busiest airports in the Middle East and Africa in 2024.

Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) announced that Ortia has promoted more than 12 million scheduled seats this year, highlighting its role as a key hub for air travel, trade and connectivity in the region.
As one of South Africa's leading international gateways, Ortia has shown significant growth and operational capabilities, bringing the movement of more than 17.8 million passengers and more than 204,000 aircraft in the fiscal year between April 2023 and March 2024. It's been processed.
