When it comes to winter breaks, many British people head to the Canary Islands.
One of the most popular destinations during this time of year is Tenerife, as it is the perfect place to grab the winter sun. This is because the weather is still warm, the sky is often clear and there are fewer crowds around.
Overall, if you want to get away from the cold climate for a bit more peaceful and quiet, it's a good place to visit. However, the creator of Tiktok recently issued a harsh warning to anyone planning to head there.
According to George Buckley, there are important things you need to know about transportation while traveling. He urged people not to wear taxis while on vacation in Tenerife.
He said that if you find another way and want people to know about it, it saves you “a lot of money.” George explained all the candid videos online.
George said: “Please don't eat taxis from the airport. Please use a public bus. We used it to leave the 40-minute journey from the South Terminal and board the airport.
“You can pay in cash or with a small local top-up card, but it's easier to pay in cash, which is a green bus.
“We are currently waiting for a return – it's number 40. Taxi and Uber cost 50 euros – we checked. Local shipping.
“It's definitely worth it and it's something we're doing again on the way home. That's also very nice. It might be pretty crowded, you might have to get up, but it's worth it there is.”
The video has been viewed thousands of times since it was shared, and people quickly commented. Some shared their experiences.
One said: “Good advice. Taxi is a rift.” Another wrote: “I went three weeks ago and stopped by Las America and wanted a taxi for 55 euros. I walked 10 minutes to the bus stop and paid 3.70 euros on a 20-minute bus to the airport.”
Others said, “Bus is good, but for taxis to the airport it's not 50 euros. It's 30-35 euros.”
Meanwhile, the fourth commented: “I literally paid 30 euros for a taxi a few days ago and straight to the hotel door.”
