Zambia has officially submitted the cultural landscape of the Barot Plain to recognize UNESCO's World Heritage, and is an important step in maintaining its cultural and ecological heritage. The nominated documents were published in Paris by CHRISSY HILWEELE, CHRISSY HILWEELE of the Zambian Embassy. The plains, located in the western states of Zambia, are the home of the rich cultural traditions of Rotsi people, including the ceremony of Kuonboka, and plays an important role in local biological diversity and traditional floodle management. 。

If approved, the Barot Plain will be a World Heritage Site of Zambia's 2nd UNESCO, along with Mosio Atunia/Victoria Falls, and will strengthen its country in cultural tourism. This designation is expected to enhance conservation efforts, attract international visitors, and promote the economic interests of local communities through accommodation facilities, guided tours, and cultural experiences. 。 The final decision on the nomination is expected in 2026, following the evaluation of the International Council (ICOMOS) on the monument and site.
