    Emirates’ vision for vegan customers highlights innovative ingredients and culinary excellence – Tourism News Africa

    The number of vegan customers continues to grow globally, with many non-vegan customers opting for vegan meals on flights as a lighter option that is considered easier to digest. Cuisine is an important consideration for Emirates. Emirates will be offering workshops on new dishes using innovative ingredients, such as similar solid egg substitutes made exclusively from legumes, which are delicious and nutritious for Emirates customers, as well as carefully selected dishes for children. We continue to expand our vegan food portfolio by adding new vegan dishes. , new dishes on board and in the lounge.

    Emirates' continued commitment to innovative vegan cuisine

    Marking Veganuary, an initiative that has been highlighting the benefits of vegan diets for the past decade, brings together a collection of Emirates' talented chefs in the Emirates Flight Catering Concept Development Kitchen to conduct new culinary workshops and , and sample the latest innovative ingredients on the market. During the workshop, chefs will try out new solid egg substitutes in spicy shakshuka sauce, develop ready-made vegan pastry sheets into flavorful vegan cannelloni, and incorporate well-known ingredients and high-quality ingredients already on board.     Emirates offers a great selection of over 300 vegan recipes, available on flights to 140 destinations around the world. The extensive menu includes plant-based protein from California's Beyond Meat, soy protein from UAE and Singaporean brand Arlene, and pressed tofu sourced from Japan's Zeniba for an authentic Asian flavor. We offer a wide selection of high-quality plant-based products sourced from suppliers around the world, including: , organic dark vegan chocolate manufactured by Linnolat in France, vegan margarine from Meistermarken in Germany, vegan curry paste provided by Pantai in Thailand, and almond milk platelets from Italy. Emirates is also focusing on sustainability by integrating fresh produce from Bastanika, the world's largest hydroponic vertical farm. The farm is a joint venture with Emirates Flight Catering and delivers pesticide-free and chemical-free leafy vegetables such as lettuce, arugula, mixed salad greens and spinach directly to Emirates catering facilities. Emirates recently introduced individual vegan milk in Economy and Premium Economy Class, with over 30,000 customers choosing this option for their coffee or tea each month.

    Underscoring its commitment to providing exceptional cuisine to all its customers, Emirates recently introduced vegan meals for children. Vegan meals for kids now include delicious and appealing dishes such as vegan pizza, sweet and sour vegetable casserole, vegetable fajitas, vegan muffins, cauliflower bites with sweet sauce, and desserts such as strawberry crumble and vegan chocolate pudding. Contains.

    Vegan options can be ordered and pre-ordered on board as well as in the Emirates Lounge. Customers can request vegan meals on all Emirates flights and in all travel classes up to 24 hours before departure. However, on high-demand routes, plant-based meals will also be offered as part of the main menu options.

    Emirates vegan meals available in all classes

    Emirates serves more than 400,000 plant-based meals onboard each year and offers vegan meals in all classes. Last year, consumption of vegan meals increased in proportion to passenger numbers, but in some regions, such as Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, consumption outpaced passenger growth. Many of Emirates' flight attendants also follow a plant-based diet, and Emirates has been offering vegan meals to its cabin crew for the past nine years.

    In economy class, Emirates passengers can enjoy dishes like crepes stuffed with sautéed carrots and peppers, served with roasted potatoes, mushrooms and tomato concassée, or curried vegetable puffs, chocolate mousse cake with chocolate sauce and blackberry crumble. Enjoy the food.

    In premium economy class, passengers who choose a vegan meal can enjoy delicious dishes such as mushrooms stewed with vegetables in five-spice soy sauce, served with steamed jasmine rice or blanched bok choy, and chocolate with apricot compote. Desserts such as tarts and raspberry tonka mousse cake will be served. Served with berry coulis.

    In Business Class, we offer a wide range of elegant and creatively selected dishes, including Thai red curry tofu with eggplant, beans, mushrooms and taro tossed in aromatic gravy and steamed jasmine rice. Those who can afford dessert can enjoy tropical coconut pineapple cake or chocolate pecan cake.

    In First Class, you'll enjoy exceptional vegan cuisine, including creamy polenta cake with thyme mushroom ragout and sautéed spinach with rich root vegetable juice. Dishes bursting with sophisticated flavors include eggplant curry with charred rice and turmeric potatoes, drizzled with coconut and mint chutney. The decadent dessert features carefully chosen contrasts, such as the tartness of rhubarb softened by strawberry charlotte, chantilly cream and raspberry tuille, and the seductive warm chocolate fondant with salted caramel sauce and whipped cashew cream.

    Vegan Options in Emirates Lounges Dubai At Dubai International Airport, Emirates has seven lounges in its flagship Terminal 3 (three for first class passengers and three for business class passengers). Additionally, there is a newly opened Emirates Lounge for all premium customers. The lounge offers a wide range of food options, from crispy pops of soy and pea protein at the snack counter in the business class lounge, to baharat and turmeric spiced kofta with coconut gravy in the buffet area, to an a la carte breakfast of warm amaranth porridge. We offer vegan options. The First Class Lounge offers pressed green apples, red grapes, raspberries, walnuts and more. In addition to a range of popular vegan salads, the lounge's most sought-after vegan dish is the Emirates Green Burger, a soy and flaxseed green burger with signature sauce and pickled cucumber.
