Cape Town's iconic hotel offers a unique new way to create vacation memories

This summer, Cape Town holidays get even more exciting as Cape Town's iconic Cape Grace Hotel offers guests the unique experience of exploring the Mother City on a Vélosophy RE:CYCLE bicycle It will be.

Swedish lifestyle brand Vélosophy has teamed up with Nespresso to use recycled aluminum from Nespresso coffee capsules in the production of its limited edition RE:CYCLE bike. Nespresso is committed to the belief that coffee can be a force for good, by empowering farmers through its global recycling efforts and sustainable quality farming practices, which are at the heart of the Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality™ programme. We are pursuing this goal. All Nespresso Original capsules are made with at least 80% recycled aluminum, and most Vertuo capsules are made with at least 85% recycled aluminum, as part of our continued commitment to sustainability and the circular economy. It is made by

Partnering with Nespresso on this initiative, Vélosophy has created the RE:CYCLE bicycle, a perfect blend of sustainability and design, made from 95% recycled aluminum. The vibrant colors of the bike's frame are inspired by Nespresso's 'Ice Leggero', and Bell is modeled after the iconic shape of the Vertuo capsule. The steam-bent oak carrier basket has two cup holders and is perfect for carrying your Nespresso on the go.

Cape Grace is proudly leading the way as South Africa's first partner hotel to offer this unique guest experience. Known for championing sustainability, Cape Grace seamlessly integrates environmentally friendly practices into daily operations and community partnerships. Their commitment to the planet has been recognized with further recognition in 2024, when they achieved the prestigious Green Key certification and are recognized as one of an elite group of South African hotels known for excellence in environmental responsibility and sustainable tourism. It was done.

During the December 2024 holiday season, explore Cape Grace's beautiful surroundings on 10 uniquely named bicycles: Grace, Two Oceans, Seal, Mermaid, Penguin, Big Wheel, Speedy, Scuba, Sharky, and Breeze . – A conscious way to discover the beauty of the Cape.

Guests are introduced to this exciting service upon check-in and can reserve their adventure bikes through the concierge or front desk. Each reservation includes a helmet for safety, a detailed map for navigation, and a secure chain and lock, perfect for exploring at your own pace and making spontaneous stops along the way.

Before departure, guests fill out a simple compensation form and provide a contact number for seamless communication and peace of mind during their trip. For your safety, please return your bicycle before sunset each day. All bikes and helmets are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each use, providing guests with the ultimate combination of convenience, comfort, and care.

This is just the latest addition to our partnership with Nespresso across all our Cape Grace venues. “Ensuring our guests have a perfect experience is our number one concern, and we view our partnership with Nespresso Professional as an investment,” says Cape Grace Hotel Manager Leon Meyer. “We use Nespresso at breakfast service and in the rooms. We have an Aguila 220 in the breakfast area and a Zenius in each room. This allows my team to create special moments with our guests. Now you can do exactly what you're supposed to do: direct. When time is of the essence, you don't have to worry about coffee. Everything is handled through partnership.”

Stacey Hopkins, Director of Sales and Marketing for Cape Grace, added: With long-term partners like Nespresso Professional, we can make a difference in the environments in which we live and work. The Vélosophy bike is a great example. ”

Cape Grace, Nespresso and Velosophy RE:CYCLE demonstrate that even the smallest act, such as recycling coffee capsules, can evoke powerful ripples of reinvention. From capsule to creation, the journey is infinitely recyclable. Infinitely beautiful.
