South Africa Airlines (SAA) will begin its first direct flight between Cape Town and Mauritius on December 9, 2025. The new service will strengthen regional connectivity three times a week, on Thursdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, providing Western Cape travelers with direct links to the Indian Ocean Island. The route aims to form part of the SAA's strategic growth plan, expand leisure travel options, and strengthen tourism ties between South Africa and Mauritius.
Each flight departs Cape Town at 09:25, arrives in Mauritius at 16:30, and return legs depart at 17:20 and return to Cape Town at 21:30. From mid-January to mid-March 2026, the frequency will decrease twice a week to match seasonal demand. The flight schedule was developed in consultation with tour operators in South Africa to maximize traveller convenience.
