British Titan Airlines is considering further expansion of E-JET after introducing the E190

British operator Titan Airways acquired the first regional jet, the Embraer 190, to complement the Airbus type fleet.

The E190 (G-Powx), originally shipped to Air Astana in 2012, was sold to Titan by leasing company Truenord.

“We have identified the (E190) as an ideal aircraft to fill the growing gap in the local market,” says Titan Account Director Mark Holt.

“We are confident in our ability to provide the performance, efficiency and flexibility our customers need to support their business.”

Titan filmed the jet in two class layouts with nine businesses and 88 economy seats, but will reconfigure the jet to offer alternative options, including a 100-seat university-wide cabin.

“The journey wasn't without challenges, but both teams remained consistent and concentrated, allowing them to successfully navigate maintenance constraints and full delivery,” says Ahmed Ali, Truenord sales director.

Titan currently operates seven Airbus Single Islejets, consisting of three A321LRs, two A321s and two A320s.

Commercial Director Alex Harrington says the E190 “closes the gap well” between smaller capacity charters and lease requests in Europe, offering the ability to serve “restrictive” airports.

The E190 implemented Titan's first commercial service on July 11th.

However, when transporting the England team that won from Zurich to London South End on July 28, she earned exposure at the recent UEFA Women's Championship Football Tournament in Switzerland.

“Since the aircraft entered the service, we have seen strong bookings from both airline and charter customers, but we are already looking for other opportunities to add the E-JET variant,” says Harrington.
