Royal Jordanian employs a spare engine for the Embraer E2 fleet

Royal Jordanian acquired Spare Engine for Embraer E2-Family Regional Jet Fleet, supported by a loan agreement.

Carriers, ingesting up to 10 aircraft, a mixture of E190-E2 and E195-E2, introduced five jets in 2024.

Three more will be introduced between 2025 and 2026. The training and simulation arm of Jordanian airlines has introduced an E2 simulator at its facility.

According to Royal Jordanian, the Pratt & Whitney GTF engine is the “cornerstone” of the fleet modernization program, with the PW1100G being selected by the carrier of the 20 Airbus A320Neos.

The PW1900G version of the GTF is the only powerplant of the E2.

Royal Jordanian has obtained two spare PW1900G on the newly promoted loan.

“The acquisition of these … spare engines will greatly increase our operational readiness and reliability,” says Royal Jordan Chief Summer Majali.

The size of the transaction has not been disclosed, but Halo says its funding consists of two advanced loans.

“This collaboration reflects Royal Jordan's commitment to sustainable growth and its commitment to maintaining its position as a leading airline in the region,” says Majali.

The modernization of the Royal Jordanian fleet includes the introduction of the Boeing 787-9 starting next year.
