Turkish Airlines signs a codeshare agreement with Airlink

Türkiye's flag carrier, Turkish Airlines, has signed a comprehensive codeshare agreement with South Africa-based Airlink to strengthen its presence on the African continent. The partnership, which will take effect on August 1, 2025, was signed at a ceremony held at Airlink's headquarters in Johannesburg.

This strategic collaboration will significantly expand guest travel options by integrating Turkish Airlines' unparalleled global network with Airlink's extensive national and regional routes in South Africa and its region. This partnership allows seamless multi-sector travel with a single ticket, providing greater convenience and flexibility for international and regional travelers.

Under the new contract, Turkish Airlines' “TK” flight codes will appear on Airlink-operated flights, allowing for smooth connections from European airline services to Cape Town, Johannesburg to many South African and regional destinations.

Commenting on the contract, Turkish Airlines' Chief Investment & Strategy Officer Levent Konuk said, “Turkish Airlines places importance on this cooperation with Airlink, which increases connectivity in South Africa and the region. Both countries.”

“We're excited to be able to help you get the most out of our business,” said Airlink CEO De Villiers Engelbrecht. “This collaboration with Turkish Airlines represents an important opportunity to deepen the relationship between the two airlines. The agreement is to further approve the Airlink brand, but for each customer it means more convenient travel options and more convenient travel options to facilitate our combined, popular network of routes.”

With this collaboration, Turkish Airlines will not only drive strategic growth in Africa, but will further strengthen the region's presence while offering enhanced options for its guests.
