Comair Flight Services (GCM, Johannesburg Lanseria) has acquired a 50% stake previously held by Comair General Aviation Holdings and restructured its holdings at Parrot Aviation, a holding company of Federal Airlines (South Africa). At the same time, co-founder and CEO Justin Reeves acquired the remaining shares from other minority shareholders. Following the Comair exit, the company was rebranded as CFS Aviation Group.
“The new structure strengthens our long-term vision, strengthens our shareholder bases and preserves operational independence,” Reeves said in a statement.
The deal, approved by the South African Competition Commission, ends a 12-year partnership with Comair. Despite currently sharing Parrot Aviation's common shareholders, CFS and Fedair continue to operate as independent brands with independent leadership and operations. CFS holds its own Aviation Service Certificate (AOC) and Reeves remains as the group's CEO.
CFS' charter fleet currently comprises the Learjet 45, two Learjet 45XR, Quote M2, Beach Jet 400xt, Pilatus PC-24, Beach (Twin-turboprop) King Air B200, and 12 PC-12.
In addition to charter services, CFS provides aircraft management and sales and operates Fixed Standard Operations (FBO) at Johannesburg Granseria.
