Emirates buys four more A380s from Channel Island Lease Vehicles

Middle Eastern airline Emirates has agreed to purchase four more Airbus A380s, which are currently operating under the lease, by the end of this year.

Emirates is to buy four aircraft from August to November as the lease expires.

It will acquire jets totaling less than £132 million ($177 million), including $25 million for title purchases and $20 million for return terms acquisitions.

The aircraft is sold by the Guernsey-based investment vehicle Doric Nimrod Air 3. This will be liquidated after revenue is distributed to shareholders in the first quarter of next year.

The company purchased aircraft that identifies MSNS 132, 133, 134, and 136 from August to November 2013, and then handed it to Emirates on a 12-year lease.

All four are equipped with the Engine Alliance GP7200 engine.

One of the Jets, MSN133, was acquired in November 2013, but the title will be relocated in the Dorik Nimrod Air three states to “promote necessary maintenance” outside of Dubai.

Emirates has previously made similar purchases of the A380 from its associated investment companies Doric Nimrod Air Two and Doric Nimrod Air One.
