Kenya Airways has once again surged to the top, winning the prestigious title of a major African airline at the 32nd Annual World Travel Awards held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Saturday night.
The National Carrier has blew five major accolades, including major airlines, business class, the lively publication Msafiri's leading infolite magazine and brands from major airlines, solidifying its edge as an air trail blazer on the continent.
The airline's CEO led the Kenya Airlines delegation as he won the award at a glittering ceremony that brought together leaders and innovators across the global travel, tourism and hospitality sector.
In a congratulatory post about X (formerly Twitter), Kenya Airlines shared its appreciation.
“We are proud to be selected as one of the leading African airlines. Thank you for choosing to fly with African pride.”
These honors followed the airline's stellar commercial year in 2024, where it recorded a net profit of Ksh 5.4 billion, growing 124% year-on-year. It also carried 5.23 million passengers and moved over 71,000 tons of cargo, confirming a robust recovery and transformation from the post-pandemic struggle.
Kenya Airways' performance has not been noticed, and industry analysts praise the airline for its commitment to excellence, safety, innovation and improving customer experience.
