A traversing man who has visited every country on Earth reveals that his favorite country is pretty close to his home. Nicholas Pascari, who considers himself “the first Argentina to visit every country in the world,” has destroyed his target after an astonishing eight years of travel.
In February he finally waited a year before placing the pin in the last country. It is the kingdom of North Korea in East Asia, and often only allows access to tourists via tightly controlled tours. However, you would imagine that choosing the nearly 200 favorites on offer would prove to be a difficult task, but Nicholas was “undetected” left. Speaking to the Argentine newspaper Infobae, “As Argentinians, there is no doubt that Argentina is number one. It has its identity, culture, gastronomy, sports and a unique natural landscape. Despite its economic issues, we stand out worldwide.”
A sense of unity
Nicholas emphasized that South American nations have a “notable identity and sense of unity” that they “cannot be seen elsewhere.” He continued to draw comparisons with England, pointing to one aspect in particular.
He continued: “You go to England and the British are not proud to be British as we are proud to be Argentinians. We feel part of something bigger.
Language is another important point from Buenos Aires who pointed out that Spanish was the “second spoken language.” That means “it's easy for us to move around.”
It's still a gem
Nicholas summed up his experiences by sharing what he learned while visiting all other countries. It is a pearl of wisdom that can shed light on Argentina's choice as his favorite country.
He said: “When you live in Argentina, you think everything is perfect in other countries. But the truth is that it's not. There are countries in war, there are countries where people don't have water, and there are countries where you can't say what you think.
The second largest country on the continent
Argentina is a large South American country that spans 2,780,400 square kilometers from north to south and 4,000 km. It is Brazil and the second largest country on the eighth largest continent in the world.
It is divided into four regions: the Andes, Pampas, North and Patagonia. The country's climate ranges from subtropical to the north to subintakes in the south, boasting a wide range of animal species.
In Patagonia, brave travelers can encounter sea lions, penguins and seals. Water from the Atlantic Ocean is characterized by dolphins, orcas and sharks. Meanwhile, to the north is home to alligators, caimans, flamingos, Tocans and Jaguars.
How many countries are there?
The United Nations recognizes 195 countries, of which 193 are member states. The last two are the Vatican City and the Palestinian non-member observer states, but the true numbers are challenged.
This is due to many conflict zones and countries with full or partial sovereignty, the BBC writes. In fact, the CIA (US Central Intelligence Agency) lists the full number as 237.
