Jambojet, a leading domestic airline, was awarded the leading low-cost airline in Africa in 2025, marking the fourth year in a row with the prestigious World Travel Award.
At Charlie Owino's awards ceremony at the Johari Rotana Hotel in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, Charlie Owino asserted that the winner serves as a testament to his unwavering commitment to providing exceptional quality services through continuous improvement and innovation.

“This incredible milestone demonstrates our unwavering commitment to providing a safe, reliable, accessible air travel experience that connects people across the region. Our customers, staff and partners are an integral part of our work.
The World Tourism Award comes as Jambojet looks to strategic regional growth by increasing frequency and fleet capacity. On Thursday, the airline returned its first Dash 8-Q400 aircraft (JXA) to its fleet, bringing the total number of aircraft to nine.
“JXA's returns are a symbol of sustainable growth, investment in fleet reliability, continuous operational excellence and, above all, commitment to customer satisfaction,” said Karanja Ndegwa, CEO and Managing Director of the Newsroom Statement.
“We will continue to pursue growth strategies across regions serving unused and underserved markets by adding additional routes and more frequency to existing routes and optimizing operations while providing customers with more choice,” Ndegwa added.
Airlines are banking banks to increase investment in fleets to increase the network footprint and add more frequencies on existing routes.
