The Minister of Tourism, Patricia de Lille and the South African Tourism Commission are pleased to formally announce the 2026 date of the conference of two South African tourism ownership and the main trade programmes of African continent, the African and African Travel Indaba.

The African Conference will be held from February 23rd to 25th, 2026, while the African Travel Indava will be held from May 11th to 14th, 2026, with the respective Bondays scheduled for February 22nd and May 10th, 2026.

“These are not just dates, they are important milestones in the continent's tourism and business events calendar,” Minister Delir said.

“These are South Africa's tourism commitments to partner and collaborate with the global tourism and business events sector to promote valuable connections with various partners around the world. With this announcement, we affirm our position as a leading host of South Africa's world-class business events.”

Meeting Africa continues to be the main business event trade show on the continent, partnering with other parts of the African continent to position Africa as a capable, creative and competitive destination for conferences, incentives, conferences, exhibitions (mouses).

African Travel Indava continues to be one of the leading leisure and tourism marketing events around the world, bringing together African tourism products, services and stories.

Through both these exhibition shows, South African tourism contributes to addressing unemployment, promoting economic impacts and increasing market access, particularly for small players who promote sustainability and comprehensive economic growth in the long-term sector.

Tourism in South Africa is currently implementing a competitive bidding process for the next five years to appoint host cities for both exhibitions from 2026. This process provides opportunities for events to evolve and innovate, while having the greatest impact on all stakeholders.
