Three Cameroonian marine scientists completed specialized training in science diving in Marseille, France, following the United Nations Marine Conference. The program, led by the Septi Entry-On Environment at the French Institute, features conservationists with marine species identification, underwater mapping, regulatory knowledge and emergency response skills, all aimed at strengthening efforts to protect Utakur's important habitats, as one of Cameroon's leading marine biodiversity sites.

Representatives from the African Marine Mammal Conservation Agency (AMMCO) and community-based tube AWU will take part in the training, marking the launch of Cameroon's first national science diving initiative. The new qualification will support marine research and biodiversity surveillance in Eboji and surrounding coastal regions, and contribute to the government's broader marine and coastal ecosystem conservation efforts.
