The state-owned carrier Mexicana has released its first Embraer E195-E2.
Sao Paulo-based Embler says the first example of Mexicana's latest generation narrowbody jet started from headquarters on the morning of June 30th.
Mexicana plans to deliver nine more E195-E2s and 10 E190-E2s.
Embraer relies on the Twinjets E190-E2 family as the flagship of its commercial program. It says its first delivery to Mexicana is a “milestone” that will enhance E2's “Latin America presence.”
Meanwhile, Mexicana is undergoing fleet modernization efforts. Currently, I run the Boeing 737 and the EMBRAER ERJ145.
Mexicana CEO Leovaldo Bojorquez says that E2 delivery “marks a new chapter” for the airline. It was rebooted in 2023 following over a decade of operational closures.
