The US visa turmoil in London has just become strange. People with confirmed interview slots are awake to find their appointments rescheduled.
One UK applicant shared an email from the authorities and rescheduled the slot for August 28th on September 2 without prior notice. The social media post was attacked with responses claiming they received the same outrageous email.

One applicant said their profile suddenly listed Harare as a location despite being based in London. Others have received typo emails starting with “Dear VSA Aplicant” and wonder if it's a scam.
However, this is not a phishing attack, but an actual rescheduling from August to October, September to January, and in some cases March 2026.

Worse, there is no explanation, no refund, or alternative slots. Automated messaging and helpless customer service lines.
Some suspect this is all a glitch in the system, while others believe that the embassies are overloaded, leaving people planning zero and changing dates. A few joke that it's a “money move” that will delay people, cancel them and charge them again.
