Travel experts say there is a charming little seaside town hidden along the picturesque British coastline, and it has just won a coveted spot on the UK's best beach list. With its golden sand, quaint boardwalks and timeless colorful cottages, this clean destination in Wales may be your next favorite escape.

Despite its reputation for a lower UK climate than its tropical, there are whispers of upcoming heatwaves, making this destination a major candidate for road trip vacations. A picturesque town hidden in Ceredijo, Newquay is advertised as one of the UK's top seaside towns, adjacent to Wales' coveted Cardigan Bay. HolidayCars.com has compiled a handy list of the best coastal towns with charming day trips, popular eateries and plenty of family-friendly activities.

Despite its small size, the town is packed with punches and remains relatively untouched by the tourist masses, making it an ideal place to soak up on weekends. Three unique beaches are offered, providing ample opportunities for exploration.

A major attraction, Harbour Beach forms the centre of a new quay quay, terraced homes dotted with kayaking, boating and paddleboarding. The town became prominent following the construction of a stone pier in the 19th century. This has strengthened trade and fishing in the region.

Additionally, the bustling harbor is a magnet for water sports enthusiasts, offering first-rate opportunities for fishing, voyages and sailor adventures, completing both dolphin and seal sightings. Top of the list of inevitable experiences is the Seamer Dolphin Watching Boat Trips, which many travelers described as “starting to finish.”

The ones depicted on the high seas have slanderous, freely available field trips, and are frequently embarking on fishing trips that are often offered by both residents and visitors. Meanwhile, Traeth Gwyn Beach creates an idyllic spot that boasts something like Ichial for dog walks and nature exploration.

Drau Beach also offers charming, secluded spaces just west of the cheerful harbor.

The respected poet Dylan Thomas had a deep connection to this fascinating town, and often weaving the spirit into his literary works. From 1944 to 1945, Thomas lived with his wife in a charming bungalow, perched on a cliff, taking in seductive views of the bay.

His love for Newquay and his local pubs are beautifully visible in the poems earlier than milk can be made, but his wife's testimony reaffirmed his deep affection for his place.

Famous poet Dylan Thomas is closely associated with the idyllic town, believed to have immortalized its spirit in his literary works. In 1944 and 1945, the Welsh bard, along with his wife, lived in a quaint cliff top bungalow, staring at the bay.

His poem, “Faster than You Can Keep Water” pays homage to the new local Quay pub, but his wife has openly expressed his attachment to his place.

Caitlyn Thomas once called Newquay the “somewhere” of the poet, pointing out that “the pub that he felt at home along with the ocean before him and in the evening.” It is this modest lifestyle that continues to attract visitors from all over the UK to charming towns.

Those who want to explore this secluded treasure, a drive from the capital, Cardiff, are shy for two and a half hours, and take about an hour and a half from the huts in Swansea.
