According to the volcanic red weather map, the European hotspots loved by Britons are set to temperatures above 40c. WXCharts predicts Greece will be burnt on July 6th, with mercury reaching 41C in the central part of the country. However, this type of temperature was spoofed as a predicted heat wave this weekend, and temperatures are expected to exceed 40c, so we were able to see this type of temperature faster. Health warnings have been issued to residents and visitors.

Greece's National Weather Service (EMY) says temperatures today range between 39-41C on the mainland and 36-38C on the island. On Saturday, temperatures drop 2-3 degrees. Meanwhile, on Sunday, experts said it would not exceed 32-34 degrees Celsius. The strong storm is believed to have been kept in locations in western Macedonia and central Macedonia since this afternoon, from the evenings of eastern Macedonia and Thracian.

Emmy added: “We expect a strong phenomenon to cease during Saturday morning hours.

“The winds will gradually strengthen across the country from Saturday, reaching up to nine Beauforts on Sunday in the up to eight Beaufort regions of Cyclade, Crete, Dodecan, East Aegean Islands, Evia, Attica and East Peloponnese.”

At the time of writing, Met Office says that at 7pm today, Kefallinia feels like 41c at actual temperatures of 36c.

It then feels like 38c at 8pm at 33c and 33c at 9pm at 30c.

Experts will feel like the 43C, as they could see the 37C high on Saturday.

The Met Office says about the capital Athens that people seeking hot sun often have temperatures above 30°C over the summer, with regular 11-12 hours of unbroken sunlight.

This allows for “enough time for sightseeing.”

    The weather specialist adds:

    “But it's likely to rain.”
